Value chain of the castile blackberry “Rubus glaucus benth” in the municipality of silvania cundinamarca, as a tool for strategic managemen
Silvania is a municipality with a predominantly agricultural vocation. Among its economic activities, agriculture stands out, particularly the production of Andean blackberry (Rubus glaucus Benth). However, blackberry producers have reported a decrease in their income due to the high level of intermediation. The lack of knowledge about the links in the production chain is reflected in the absence of effective marketing strategies.
This research aims to identify each link in the production chain so that producers can recognize their environment, understand their limitations, and enhance their strengths and opportunities. Additionally, it aims for them to identify external factors that can affect their production, allowing them to adopt competitive positions compared to other producers at regional, national, and international levels.
Based on this information, a sample of 33.4% of the Andean blackberry production units (Rubus glaucus Benth) was taken, with a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of 5%. This was a random and completely random sample. A mixed methodology (qualitative and quantitative) was used. The results indicate that in Silvania, it is necessary to strengthen associative processes and rural extension to reduce production costs and increase yield per hectare. It is also recommended to train producers in methodologies that allow them to diversify their products and include innovation processes, as well as to make group approaches to financial entities to access capital and acquire machinery and equipment.
This comprehensive approach seeks to provide producers with tools to improve their competitiveness, thereby preserving their cultural production practices, promoting more active participation in the production chain, and improving their economic conditions.
