The agricultural and livestock tradition of the Orinoquía region has caused the region to have deficiencies in the development of other aspects of the economy such as industry and commerce; On the other hand, the oil industry has become the bastion of the region's economy for the last 20 years. Once the oil crisis generated consequences on employment and the standard of living of the inhabitants, society has begun to look towards other horizons; In this characterization, a first approximation was made to which industries and productive sectors are awakening the economic life of the municipality of Acacías, an economy strongly hit by different phenomena such as the oil crisis, the incipient road infrastructure and now the COVID pandemic. 19. Within the characterization it was found that the agricultural and livestock industries prevail within the economic activities, as well as the transportation sector presents great activity, as well as the retail trade of different products, agricultural inputs, goods and services among other products.
