This article provides a brief approach to the subject of Database Administration, focused on the proposed solution to problems arising from the management of information in Database Management systems, and is oriented towards the actions that must be deployed to ensure that the information is available, that it is kept integrated and that it is accessible only to authorized persons.  In this sense, the development of the different phases for the foundation of database administration is presented, taking a case study of an organization where the multiple appropriate concepts can be applied, thus ensuring the proper administration of the database from perspectives such as DBA to a relational database engine such as Oracle, which is one of the main database engines. With the proper application of the administration, it was possible to lay the foundation for an information system according to the needs of the organization under study. The scope of the project ranges from the formulation of the entity to the control of the database backup plan.
