Biotechnology Trends In Colombia
This research proposes the construction of a technological surveillance model for the strategic management of scientific research in the area of biotechnology in Colombia. For this study, a data set was constructed that contains information related to the behavior of the biotechnology area in Colombia in documents published in high-impact journals indexed in Scopus, between the years 2000 and 2021. 137 documents published in that period of time were obtained. time, highlighting the years 2003 and 2013 with a publication of 15 and 14 documents, respectively. In relation to the areas of knowledge of the publications, environmental sciences stand out (13.3%), biological sciences and agriculture (12%) and in third place biochemistry, molecular biology and genetics with 11.7%. Regarding the types of documents, it was found that the most common are scientific articles, conference papers and review articles. On the other hand, the authors of these publications are linked to educational institutions such as the National University of Colombia with 21 documents, followed by the University of Antioquia with 6 documents and in third place the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
