Exploratory study to create a doctoral program

The nations development needs science and technology process. It requires doing research and doctoral programs to support a strong scientific activity. Currently, the ECBTI (Basic sciences, technology and Engineering School) of the UNAD (National Open University) is planning to create his first doctoral program, and an important decision es required: a strategic name. The purpose of this paper is to identify a suitable set of alternatives to name the future program. In order to achieve this objective, we realized a panel and a Delphi exercise with professors of the ECBTI who have doctoral degree. Results in this work allowed suggest three primary names with several options for emphasis (it is possible to combine primary names and emphasis to obtain unique names). Prove these alternatives in further research is proposed. Value of this work is to support decision making using analysis with the ECBTI professors.
