The DNA of Metabolism: Influence of Gene Expression on Growth and Obesity

DOI: https://doi.org/10.22490/ECISA.9297
José Gabriel Mesa Angulo Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia

This article examines the influence of genetics on metabolism, focusing on two studies: one analyzing polymorphisms in hormones associated with muscle growth in sheep and the other evaluating gene expression (ObRb, AdipoR1, and CYP19) in obese or overweight women. The findings underline the importance of genetic markers for predisposition to metabolic conditions, opening the door to personalized interventions in animal production and human health (1-23).
