Drug use in Colombia is a polysemic problem in terms of causes and effects. The purpose of this research is to identify the psychosocial and political factors that affect the consumption of psychoactive substances in the youth population of the Alto del Yucal neighborhood of Santa Marta, this will allow us from the interdisciplinarity of the social and human sciences to establish a theoretical route- practice of orientation towards the prevention and mitigation of consumption, as well as the promotion of perspectives for the consolidation of a life project that strengthens the social fabric and mitigates violence in this sector of the city.

The research is of a mixed approach, whose instruments used are the written survey and the interview. The dynamic takes place in the Barrio Alto del Yucal de Santa Marta, through the targeting of a group of 25 young people, conducting a written survey anonymously and under their consent and will as a preliminary element of verification of their situation, and then implement the interview technique that will allow us to inquire about the influence of the proposed factors
