Imaginaries of citizenship present in the forms of political participation of UNAD acacías students

Arley Camelo Ciro Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia

This document shows results of a study whose purpose was to explore the imaginary of citizenship present in the forms of political participation of students of the National Open and Distance University - UNAD, Acacias headquarters. The research was of qualitative approach. through the discourse analysis technique, typical of the interpretive paradigm, the categories were analyzed: Exercise of citizenship, Possibilities and guarantees to exercise citizenship, and Citizen awareness, obtained from the interactions of students in virtual discussion forums, supported on the Moodle platform. The sample was made up of 178 students, enrolled in the Ethics and Citizenship (Undergraduate) course, I period of 2018. Among the results, it was found that students associate the Possibilities and guarantees of exercising citizenship with the vision they have of themselves and the positive or negative assessment they make of their social environment; there is no correspondence between citizen awareness and the exercise of citizenship, which could negatively affect the political participation of university students. This suggests incorporating pedagogical actions that, from the university, make possible the reconfiguration of these imaginary of citizenship.
