Solid waste and community in urban rivers: case section 2 Fucha river – Bogotá D.C – Colombia

  • Results and conclusions: After collecting and analyzing the above information, it was possible for us to identify on the riverbank ten critical points of accumulation of mixed solid waste which are generated for two reasons: First, Community Inadequate Practices (non-separation at the source, delivery of waste at non-established hours and payment to highwaymen for the final disposal of special waste. On the other hand, the social problem to the persistence of homeless people in abandoned public spaces. Finally, we were concluded that the recovery of public space and green areas are essential actions for the rehabilitation of the Fucha river ring, in turn, generate solidarity actions that strengthen the connectivity between the river and the community, aiming at the appropriation by the territory and the identification of the river as a source of life.
