Constraints to the growth of the microenterprise sector in the district of Santa Marta
This project investigates the main obstacles that microenterprises in the District of Santa Marta will face, with the objective of identifying limitations and proposing strategies for their sustainable development and economic growth. Through a survey and a qualitative approach, it was found that these microenterprises face significant difficulties, such as limited access to financing, little training in business management, and low adoption of technology. These internal factors are aggravated by external conditions, such as inflation and inflexible government policies, which complicate their ability to operate efficiently and improve their competitiveness.
It is concluded that the lack of financial support and adequate training are critical barriers that prevent the growth of these companies. The project recommends strengthening management training and promoting the adoption of new technologies to improve productivity. Likewise, it is essential that local institutions offer a favorable environment, through public policies that encourage digitalization and facilitate access to financial resources. Collaboration between entrepreneurs and institutions is key to overcoming barriers and ensuring sustainable development, which will allow microbusinesses in Santa Marta to play a more significant role in the regional economy.
