Since the mid-90s, Colombia began its process of economic opening by signing different trade agreements and agreements as opportunities to benefit small and medium-sized businesses. This is how the interest arises in reviewing the contributions that these generate to the manufacturing sector. It is an exploratory study through the review of academic data, with the objective of building an overview of the context of free trade agreements for entrepreneurs in the manufacturing sector and whether they provide benefits for productive activity.

Free trade agreements provide significant opportunities for entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and access foreign markets. By removing trade barriers and tariffs, these agreements create a more level playing field for businesses of all sizes; It is relevant today to recognize the importance of entrepreneurs who take advantage of these opportunities to grow their businesses and increase their profits exponentially.

Increased competition and innovation are other benefits that free trade agreements offer entrepreneurs; When companies have access to larger markets, they face greater competition, which can lead to greater innovation and better product quality, this competition can lead to lower prices for consumers, which can increase demand for products and services. Faced with the demands of a global market, the success of entrepreneurs depends on their capacity for innovation and adaptation.
