The checherecheros of Medellín unknown traders, but useful for the economy

The objective of this working document is to show that within the so-called informal economy in the city of Medellín, there is a subgroup of informal vendors, unknown to the citizens, called Checherecheros, who allow the commercialization of second-hand goods or products. recycled goods called “chécheres”, which others require to give them a second chance of use, which
makes these informal traders useful to the economy because they allow the exchange of goods.

The methodology Begins with a bibliographic review to obtain information that allows contextualizing the commercial activity of informal vendors in the city of Medellín in the La Candelaria sector. The research is descriptive with a mixed approach. uses the DITRIAC concurrent triangulation design. for the collection, analysis and cross-interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data.

This document is part of the research: Prospective study of the ways of marketing products and services by informal innkeepers in commune 10 of Medellín - La Candelaria, as a consequence of the pandemic generated by COVID 19. The results apart from showing the importance of these informal traders, visualize the precarious conditions in which these people carry out their commercial work.
