This research work seeks to observe how the subject of construction supervision is exposed in Colombia, its main characteristics and its importance in the construction sector. In terms of methodology, this work presents a descriptive qualitative approach, which aims to describe how a construction supervision process is developed, for this reason, information is collected through a survey
type form to experts on the subject located in Bogota, seeking to know the present and the prospects of this topic.

In the civil works and constructions carried out in the country, particularly in public works, there are some work supervision processes, which seek to harmonize the relationship between contractor and contractor and ensure the quality of the work, compliance with the execution schedule, the comprehensive management of the processes, the mitigation of environmental impacts and the administration of the resources necessary for the construction of the work.

The subject is of vital importance for those who make decisions and are responsible for the successful completion of all the processes that influence the construction of civil works, from the creation of the design to the respective delivery of the project with its corresponding guarantees.

The construction supervision is not only a matter of compliance with the requirements for a bidding process or a standard, it must go beyond that and the builders must understand that a supervision process is a quality assurance component of any construction project, which, if it has flaws or is not used, generates the adjacent problems of the civil works and constructions.
