Abstract- This article presents the research proposal, which is based on the lack of a feasibility study to support the creation of a project management consulting firm for municipalities in Colombia. The general objective of the research proposal is to develop a feasibility study for the project management consulting firm, by means of the PMBOK technical tools, in order to determine the profitability of the project management consulting and advisory firm, which seeks to operate in all the municipalities of Colombia. For this reason, three specific objectives are proposed that contribute directly to the fulfillment of the general objective. The development of the research proposal will allow to know the profile of the consulting company and the needs in terms of project
management in the municipalities, and finally, to identify the feasibility of the project. For this purpose, a theoretical review has been carried out to provide the basis for the research proposal.
