As of 2019, COVID-19 has caused significant effects in the health, economic and social context. Due to the numerous infections caused by this pandemic, many companies found it necessary to paralyze their activities, compromising their permanence in the market. The case of Colombian companies was not the exception, since the decrease in sales caused the closure of various establishments, with the most affected being micro, small and mediumsized companies, which represent more than 90% of the business fabric in this country. In particular, it can be said that the effects caused to microenterprises dedicated to accommodation and food services have been evident, due to the measures taken by health organizations that prevent the proximity and agglomeration of people. Likewise, the financial, technological and informal difficulties faced by these productive units are also found in weaknesses of organizations that cause greater vulnerability to these small companies. Under this context, this research tries to identify the challenges that Colombian accommodation and food micro-enterprises must face for their economic reactivation in the short term, in order to accelerate their operation and contribution to the national economy. The study is carried out under a qualitative documentary approach based on secondary sources for the collection of information and fulfillment of the objective.
