Undoubtedly, industrial maintenance has a great participation in the strategic management process of any organization, regardless of its nature. At present, managers have the great challenge of showing maintenance as an investment in assets and not as an expense; which translates into looking for better tools that identify the best mandrels to reach the goal and of course that can be measurable from a series of specific aspects of the area. To talk about strategic direction is to talk about the balanced scorcard; its approach that only seeks to integrate the strategy and the evaluation of the business has proven to be a producer of great results since its disclosure in 1992, this several sectors and different areas of companies.

The BSC tool creates a permanent link between the critical dimensions for the success of any organization; finance, customers, learning and growth, finally the internal business. The immersion of a company into new markets and the globalization of business require that new ways of putting together business strategies be addressed.
