This Working Paper is based on the literature review associated with the doctoral thesis project entitled: "Holistic strategic model for a company distributing products of the welding industry in the time horizon 2030". based on a bibliometric analysis carried out using VosViewer software, in which search equations were applied to the articles published in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, determining the co-occurrences of the keywords related to the words sustainability, future and welding, and delimiting the range of searches in a period of time between 2013-2023. To this end, the systematic literature review methodology was applied, which concluded that for the time horizon 2013-2023, there is a higher concentration of co-occurrences in Scopus, in concepts associated with sustainability, friction welding and life cycle, while in Web of Science, clusters of the concepts optimization, aluminum alloy and life cycle assessment are shown, as well as, the most preponderant authors addressed the topic of sustainability assessment of present and future trends in the welding industry worldwide.
