This article measures the impact of the social science journals classified in the Publindex call No. 768 of 2016 and projected for call No. 830 of 2018 in phase III according to the H5 index. Through a bibliometric study, 112 journals were analyzed. Using Harzing’s Publish or Perish (POP) program, six consultations were carried out for each journal to identify the H5 of greater weight and analyze the quartiles of the journals in the 2018 Publindex call. The results showed that 30.2 % (34) of the journals presented an average growth of 1.2 in the H5 index; in addition, the upper quartile limit is set by the journal Estudios Gerenciales of the ICESI University, with 32. 42 % of the journals would lose their rankings because they were outside the interquartile limit (Limit Q2-Q3 = 10).
