Gene Editing and Artificial Intelligence: Ethical Challenges in the Face of Biotechnological Advances

Objective. To examine the key ethical dilemmas arising from biotechnological advancements, focusing on issues such as fairness in access to technology, public health risks, and the protection of human rights. Methodology. A qualitative approach was adopted,  consisting of a comprehensive literature review and critical analysis, drawing from databases such as PubMed, Cochrane, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. Results. In recent decades, biotechnology has rapidly evolved, leading to significant developments in areas such as gene editing, preimplantation diagnosis, cloning, and artificial intelligence. These advancements raise complex ethical challenges that require thorough examination from a bioethical perspective. Conclusion. Bioethics must evolve to address these emerging challenges, fostering a balance between technological innovation, environmental sustainability, and respect for human dignity.
