This document begins by showing some of the problems that have made difficult the establishment of a research methodology for the arts, making an approach to the relationship between scientific knowledge and creative thinking. Subsequently, some of the justifications necessary for the development of a process of knowledge construction are presented. In conclusion, the text will propose, based on different considerations of the nature of art, some specific characteristics and categories for the development of "Research - Creation" processes.
