Microalbuminuria y uroanálisis en individuos con riesgo para diabetes mellitus en Socotá, Boyacá
Introduction. Diabetes mellitus, a disorder characterized by presenting insulinresistance, or a change in insulin secretion with increased glucose production. Objective. To determine the concentration of microalbuminuria and uroanalysis findings in individuals with moderate and high scores on the Findrisk scale. Methods. The research was divided into two phases, during the first one, the study population was sensitized, they filled out the sociodemographic data questionnaire and the Findrisk instrument. Individuals with moderate risk scores passed to the second phase of the project, which consisted of collecting a urine sample for uroanalysis and microalbuminuria processing. Results. The 98 participants had a mean age of 50 years, with a predominance of women; 64% of the population said they were married and 83% lived in the urban area. The Findrisk test, revealed that 17% of men and 19% of women were at moderate risk and 11% of men and 17% of women at high risk for diabetes. Conclusions. It was determined that 25% of the intervened had alterations in the urinary dipstick and urinary sediment, while 15% of the population presented microalbuminuria.
