Environmental, industrial and medical practices have encouraged the development of new sustainable strategies for the protection and improvement of conditions in these sectors. Currently, in the environmental field, microorganisms have been used to stimulate plant growth and reduce the negative effects of chemicals. Also, in the industrial field, microorganisms
have been used for process optimization in the restoration and production of health-enhancing materials and foods, respectively. In the medical field, it has been shown that many of these biological agents are beneficial and have important properties that improve the functioning of the body. Thus, bacteria are a potential source of a wide variety of bioactive products, that is the case of Lysinibacillus sphaericus (Ls), which has taken on great importance in recent years because of the properties it has shown to have. Therefore, the purpose of this review is to recount Ls and its various applications as promising
bacteria in bioprospecting in the fields mentioned.
