Digital transformation expands opportunities for diagnosis, follow-up, and access to health services while also reopening a basic question: what does it mean to care when technology occupies an increasingly important place in health decisions and experiences? FIKALIV addresses this question through an institutional trajectory that began in 2020 at the School of Health Sciences of the Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD), bringing together ethics, community participation, innovation, and digital awareness. To understand this proposal, a documentary interpretive analysis was conducted using institutional sources, scientific literature, and technical documents on ethics of care, community health, and digital transformation. The analysis shows a broader understanding of care beyond the healthcare setting, an explicit concern with guiding technology through ethical principles, and an approach to organizing the academic experience around relationships, participation, and shared responsibility. FIKALIV therefore presents care as a collective construction and proposes pause, dialogue, and connection as spaces from which new ways of caring for life can be imagined.
