Diagnóstico de la mastitis bovina
La principal función de la glándula mamaria es la de generar leche con un alto
contenido nutricional de proteínas y grasas. Cuando hay un proceso inflamatorio
causado por mastitis, hay enormes efectos en la economía agrícola debido
a la reducción de la producción, tratamiento del bovino, y gran dificultad
en la clasificación de los diversos tipos de mastitis existentes. En Colombia,
como en otros países, tradicionalmente, los métodos de detección han incluido
la estimación de recuentos de células somáticas, identificación de los
microorganismos que a menudo implica métodos de cultivo, medición de
biomarcadores asociados con la aparición de la enfermedad y recientemente,
avances importantes en la identificación de marcadores de ácido nucleico que
son de importancia en el diagnóstico.
